The Kansas Aviation System Plan (KASP) aligns with key planning efforts, including the Federal Aviation Administration, the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems, KDOT's Long Range Transportation Plan, and the Kansas Airport Improvement Program. It also integrates individual airport capital improvement programs, layout plans, and master plans.
The primary objectives of the KASP process are to:
- Identify the system airports most critical to Kansas' transportation needs and economic goals.
- Pinpoint projects with the highest potential to enhance the performance of the Kansas airport system.
- Demonstrate how investments improve the Kansas airport system's performance against established benchmarks and performance measures.
