The Special City/County Highway Funds Program distributes motor fuels tax revenue to counties and cities for use in general road funds.  

Kansas taxes motor fuels to generate funding for construction and maintenance of roadways. KDOT distributes a portion of that money to all Kansas counties and more than 600 cities for maintenance and improvements of county roads and city streets. 

Distribution to local agencies is based on vehicle registrations, Average Daily Vehicle Miles Traveled (ADVMT), and total road miles.
