The Kansas National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Formula Program (NEVI), known as Charge Up Kansas, uses federal funds to support the development of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure along federally designated Alternative Fuel Corridors, focusing on the national Interstate System. Once these corridors are certified as “built out” by the FHWA, funding can be used for other public charging infrastructure. This program aims to provide a convenient, reliable, affordable, and equitable charging experience for travelers.
Program goals include:
- Plan and deploy EV charging station infrastructure.
- Incorporate all necessary equipment into EV infrastructure including, utilities, connections, and supportive power networks for charging EV batteries.
Eligible Entities
- Cities
