The Safety Data Section, within KDOT Transportation Safety, is the state's repository for all motor vehicle crash information on Kansas roadways. 

Data Management: Collects and manages crash data from across Kansas. This information is essential for understanding traffic safety and developing effective safety programs and policies. 

Reports and Dashboards: Develops and maintains tools to access crash data to help identify traffic trends, high-risk areas, and contributing factors in crashes. 

Support for Law Enforcement: Provides crash report forms and trains law enforcement officers on collecting data at crash scenes. 

Data Sharing: Maintains traffic records and crash statistics for the state of Kansas and fulfills associated data and records requests.
