Project Description
Phase 2A
The first phase of the I-135 Gold Project included the replacement of the southbound I-135 ramp to southbound I-235, the replacement of the northbound I-135 loop ramp to southbound I-235 with a two-lane flyover ramp and the extension of the acceleration lane on the westbound K-254 ramp to southbound I-135. Work on the Gold Project Phase 2A began in April 2021 and was completed December 2023.
Phase 2B
Gold Project Phase 2B includes a direct connection for eastbound K-96 traffic from northbound I-235 and new ramps for westbound traffic from K-96 at I-135. This phase of the project began in February 2023 with a completion date anticipated in late 2026.
