KDOT hosted an open house-style public meeting about improvements to East Kellogg in Wichita and Andover. KDOT is looking at improvements to East Kellogg in two phases:

1. From I-35/K-96 in east Wichita through 159th Street in Andover
2. From east of 159th Street to east of Prairie Creek Road in Andover

The public meeting covered both phases and presented more detailed design maps for Phase 1 and Phase 2 proposed improvements. Attendees had the opportunity to talk with the project team and provide feedback. The public was invited to submit comments from September 13 through September 27.

Phase 1 of the U.S. 54/East Kellogg corridor project is fully funded, and final design/construction is anticipated to begin shortly after completion of the NEPA process which is anticipated to be in early 2023. Phase 2 is being included in the Environmental Assessment so that FHWA approval can be obtained, and the project can move forward for development when funding is available.
