• NB I-35/Mission Rd., December 19 – November 2025, ONGOING. NB I-35 single right lane and ramp closed (NB I-35 to Mission Rd. exit ramp) for drainage and utility work.
• EB Shawnee Mission Pkwy., Eby Ave. to Antioch Rd., December 4 – March 2025, ONGOING. Single right lane closed for utility work.
• SB U.S. 169, 161st St. to 167th St., October 1 – January 15, ONGOING. Single right lane closed for turn lane construction.

69 Express Closures

NB and SB U.S. 69, 103rd St. to 151st St., lane expansion & U.S. 69/167th St. interchange improvement project (69Express):

• NB U.S. 69 at 135th St., January 9, NEW. Single right lane closed for traffic control device repair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. 
• NB U.S. 69 at 119th St., January 9, NEW. Single right lane closed for traffic control device repair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

NB and SB U.S. 69, 103rd St. to 151st St., lane expansion & U.S. 69/167th St. interchange improvement project (69Express):

• I-435/SB U.S. 69, April 2 – April 2025, ONGOING. Ramp (I-435 to SB U.S. 69 entrance ramp) and collector ramp lanes reduced to one lane for construction access.

KDOT Construction Projects Affecting Traffic

NB and SB U.S. 69, 103rd St. to 151st St., and U.S. 69/167th St., start date February 2023, ONGOING. Lane expansion and interchange improvement project; work includes widening of NB and SB U.S. 69, from 103rd St. to 151st St., which will include a tolled express lane in each direction, and improvements to the U.S. 69/167th St. interchange. Area lane and ramp closures will be scheduled for the duration of the project, with traffic control changing as the project progresses. Work will take place daily and nightly. Please see “Short-Term Closures” for applicable daily and nightly closure info. Express lanes are scheduled to open in early 2026 with the project expected to be completed by the end of 2026.

KDOT Closures

• EB and WB K-32/Turner Diagonal Fwy., 65th St. to 59th Ln., October 2023 – May 2026, ONGOING – UPDATED. Roadway fully closed for bridge replacement project work. 
• SB K-5, south of Sunshine Rd., March 2023 – December 2025, ONGOING – UPDATED. SB K-5 bridge over Union Pacific Railroad tracks, south of Sunshine Rd., fully closed for maintenance work. 

KDOT Construction Projects Affecting Traffic

K-32/Turner Diagonal Fwy./Kaw Dr., start date October 2022, ONGOING – UPDATED. Bridge replacement project; work includes replacement of the EB and WB K-32/Turner Diagonal Fwy. bridges over Kaw Dr. and Union Pacific Railroad lines. Adjacent ramp closures and full K-32 closures are scheduled on EB and WB K-32/Turner Diagonal Fwy. from 65th St. to 59th Ln. Detours are marked; the project is scheduled in multiple phases. Work is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. and the project is expected to be completed in Summer 2026.
