A crack seal project will start soon on a section of K-254 in Butler County.

The Kansas Department of Transportation project will be on K-254 from near Shumway Road to near Boyer Road. The length is almost 2.5 miles.

The work is expected to begin around Oct. 14 and be completed around the end of the month.

During the project, eastbound and westbound traffic on K-254 will be reduced to one lane at times. Motorists should be prepared to slow down for the work zone.

Pavement Pro’s, of McPherson, is the primary contractor for the $70,197 project.
