By late afternoon today, Dec. 21, the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) expects to reopen U.S. 169 to traffic from Thayer south to U.S. 400. The 7-mile highway section has been closed since July to add passing lanes and replace the mainline pavement.

Work is continuing along the highway. Drive with care and obey the speed limit. Check KDOT’s updated traveler information website, www.Kandrive.gov, for more highway condition and construction details.
