U.S. 169 surfacing work starts in Anderson County

Monday, May 22, the Kansas Department of Transportation started a surfacing project on U.S. 169 in Anderson County. The 13-mile project begins at the roundabout south of Garnett and continues northeast to the Anderson-Franklin county line.

Flaggers and a pilot car are directing one-lane traffic through the work zone during daylight hours; expect delays of 15 minutes or less. KDOT awarded the construction contract of $2.2 million to Vance Brothers Inc. and Subsidiary, Kansas City, Missouri.

Weather permitting, the road work should be finished in late June. Check KDOT’s updated traveler information website, www.kandrive.org, for more highway condition and construction details.
