Beginning Thursday, Dec. 15, the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) plans to begin field surveys to gather information necessary for two proposed culvert replacements on K-148 in Washington County.
The first location being surveyed is over Horseshoe Creek on K-148, about 2.5 miles north of K-243. The second location being surveyed is over Parsons Creek on K-148, about 8 miles east of the Republic County line.
The surveys will take place on the existing highway alignment.
DOT expects both surveys to be completed by Feb. 28, 2023. Survey activities will include the use of survey instruments on the ground to determine locations of existing features within the corridor.
A member of the survey crew will contact property owners or tenants for permission to enter private property.
Brian Westberg, P.S., Survey Project Manager, KDOT will be in charge of both surveys for KDOT. Persons with questions may contact KDOT Public Affairs Manager Ashley Perez at (785)826-6799.
